Info: GHRP-6 (Growth Hormone Releasing Hexapeptide) is a peptide hormone from the growth hormone (GH) class. The purpose of GHRP-6, as with all related peptides, is to increase the amount of natural GH production in the body. GH increases can benefit anabolism, fat loss, recovery, general well-being, and serve anti-aging purposes.

GHRP-6, and this is true of all GHRP hormones, mimics the production of ghrelin. This mode of action stimulates the ghrelin, GHS-R1a or growth hormone secretagogue receptors. This stimulation acts to increase GH production by stimulating the pituitary gland, specifically the ghrelin receptors located in the pituitary gland.

High ghrelin is also known to stimulate appetite. Alternatively, the hormone promotes fat loss and, more importantly, improves recovery rates. Although ghrelin has been shown to promote recovery, GHRP-6 and elevated GH levels are more likely to have a greater role in correspondingly elevated IGF-1 levels. IGF-1 levels do not increase at a rate comparable to direct application of human growth hormone (HGH) because the pulsatile effect of GHRP-6 is short-lived.
GHRP-6 is also a glucose-dependent hormone, especially when blood glucose levels are low. High blood glucose levels cause GHRP-6 to become weaker, which means it must be taken during a fasting state to achieve its intended benefits.
